"Winter Pele" Four Seasons 2005 SOLD

This mask is one of a suite of four masks.  It is #7 in a limited edition of one-of-a-kind resin mask-sculptures.

The Hawaiian Volcano goddess "Pele" was born as a flame the mouth of her earth mogther, Haumea.  Her dwelling place is Halemaumau on the Big Island of Hawaii.  She is the earth goddess creating new land with every outpouring of lava.

Creating sculptures of Hawaiian goddesses is my way of honoring the Hawaiian culture and femininity in general.
